A Day of Reflection

Today my son turns 18! I'm part excited and part in denial. I'm so not ready for this. Where has the time gone? It's actually a double whammy this year - first 18 and then graduating from high school. I just know another strand of hair turned white in the last five minutes.

While he's at school, I'll look through the photo albums and his baby book. Run my fingers along his baby blanket that I've kept. Hold his baby booties in my hand. And smile, because it's been an amazing 18 years.

But first I need to put up decorations, take care of the cake, and yeah, take a moment here and there to reflect on the joy of my life - my son :)
