Shifters and Wheels

I had an action-packed weekend and I think I need a week to recover from it, lol.

We spent Saturday at the coast - along with the rest of the world, and managed to get in a little beach time. The weather was gorgeous and the waves of the ocean were calming.



We had lunch at my dad's and bopped around town. We helped load the entertainment center he was giving us onto his truck and then he followed us to our place. It looks fantastic in our family room. We did pizza for dinner - very late - and I must have crawled into and passed out. I was exhausted.



Sunday my son had a Pokemon tournament, so we drove him there and then sweetie and I went off and did our own thing. We watched Lady in the Water, which I enjoyed. I can see where some people may not have liked it, but it fit my mood yesterday and I thought it was well done, aside from some silly stuff in there.



We also bought a new car! It's a 2006 Chevy Malibu in deep blue and oh baby I'm excited! *BG*

Edge of Seventeen and I've been Kissed!

I've been listening to Edge of Seventeen ever since I woke up - I freakin love Stevie Nicks. OOO baby OOO baby OOOOOO. I'd blast it but my son is still asleep. I can't remember too many days this summer where I've seen him crawl out of his cave before 9am. Must be nice. He's got 3 1/2 weeks left and then it's back to school.

New ReleaseNight of the Nogitsune will be released tomorrow from Silk's Vault.



I'll be stopping in CataNetwork-Readers in the early morning to do a quick hi-by, and then I'm headed to the coast for the day. My dad is giving us his big entertainment center and he needs help loading it onto his truck. Plus, we haven't been over there for a few weeks. The thing is huge and won't exactly match our family room - but I really don't care. It will still look nice in our place *BG*
Sunday we'll be out all day too, might take in a movie - not sure, we just plan to be out. No sleeping in for me.

Good or Bad?
Let's see, in other news, I'm not sure it's a good thing to be a multi-tasker. One would think it's a good trait and allows you to get a lot accomplished - but I beg to differ. I think it creates an even bigger work load. I'm not saying all this to get sympathy or anything, I'm just talking out loud.

Leaves me in stitches
We watched America's Sweethearts last night. I love that movie. Since we bought it about 6 months ago, I think we've watched it 10 times. It just makes me laugh and reminds me to laugh at myself when I take things too seriously.



Gotta love him
Sweetie bought me the wrong yogurt flavor and I don't have the heart to tell him otherwise.



Tug O War
My cat and I have a race in the morning to see who will get to sit on the blanket. I am more comfortable setting a blanket on my chair. It gives it more cushion for my bum. However, my cat tends to streak in here and stretch out on it before I get it there. One minute I'm getting things set up on my desk so I'm all ready to go, and the next minute I reach over to grab it and he's there, purring up a storm with a smug(but cute) look on his face. And don't say I should just move his butt off it either. He clearly runs this household.



Equal Opportunity:
So, other writing news: I'm working on 3 different stories at the same time, which again - that multi-tasking thing - not a good thing. One story is a paranormal, the second is a shape-shifter, and the third is a vampire story. Currently they all have about the same word count, so no story is getting special attention. The muse thinks she's cute doing this, but I don't have the energy to fight about it.

This weekend we went shopping for a car. The only problem is, it was bloody hot and our AC doesn't work. Once we got home I plopped myself in front of a fan and guzzled down several bottles of water. Gah! I didn't feel too good in the evening. I may like to write heated scenes, but I don't like the heat in a car on a humid day. We did find one car we liked, but we've only just begun.

TGIF and Chat-filled Weekend News!

All this week I've thought it was a very, very long Monday, and come to find out it's Friday! Four days snuck right on by...so sneaky.

Today is my brother's b-day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BROTHER!! *blows party horn and throws cake* Ahem. Not like I expect that he'll read my blog, but who knows. As my big brother he looks in on me from time to time.



Today no matter what I need to finish up my edits for Under a Warlock's Spell. I've been sidetracked all week. No more excuses!

Not sure what our weekend plans are. There's a fair going on all weekend, plus Saturday market, and of course our regular errands. I haven't heard what the weather is going to be either. We're making plans for a Christmas Vacation this year. I haven't had much time to scope out the net for some nice ideas, but hopefully next week I can do that.

This week I am burning up the chat circuit! I can only hope that someday in the distant future I am doing the same thing, only not online ;) lol.

I just have to mention that my Secret Summer Sister is a total blast. She writes these funny poems and sends me ecards. I love it :) I never know what I'm going to get when I open my email, lol.



So tell me, in your own words, what length of books do you prefer to read? Novels, novellas, novelletes, short stories, quickies - I want to know! Some writers can pen a novel in no time flat. They have the gift of creating full blown stories with multiple plot points and an assortment of characters. Yes, I admit it, I'm jealous. My preferred length to write is novella-length, and I like short stories. I've written only a few novels and I'll tell you, it's like pulling teeth. The novels I have written, I'm especially proud of. They are mini milestones that show my growth. I just wondered what you liked best.



I'm happy to report the humidity has left and the weather has cooled just enough to leave my allergies alone. I hate taking allergy pills, but this summer I've had to double up. I don't even want to mention how much I've spent on tissues in the last two months. Money that would be better spent on books!



I guess I have to change the calendar tomorrow. I'm kind of interested to see what the new butterfly is on my calendar. My brother's birthday is on the 4th so I have to track down an especially cool card. He's 13 years older than me, so I'm going to have to rub that in, lol.

Party Hangover and Samhain Chat

See - I do throw around a lot of confetti *BG* Oh my, I sure partied a lot yesterday, and it was fun! *BG* I'm exhausted, lol.

My son had guitar lessons last night and he's doing really good. I know he doesn't think so, but it's only his 3rd lesson and I'm very impressed. Hubby came home with flowers yesterday, which really brightened my day. He's such a sweetie.
