See - I do throw around a lot of confetti *BG* Oh my, I sure partied a lot yesterday, and it was fun! *BG* I'm exhausted, lol.

My son had guitar lessons last night and he's doing really good. I know he doesn't think so, but it's only his 3rd lesson and I'm very impressed. Hubby came home with flowers yesterday, which really brightened my day. He's such a sweetie.

I refuse to change the calendar over yet...I'm not ready for August. It's crunch month.

Today I'll be working on my newsletter, which will be out later in the week, a couple stories that are vying for attention, edits of Under a Warlock's Spell, and of course the Samhain chat. Again, I'd love for you to join me :)

MEA blog day and grand opening eve

I've got that song "Hazy Shade of Winter" stuck in my head. "Time...time...time..." I never have enough. Where have I been the past few days? Ugh...doctors appointments. Necessary evil. Blood tests, needles, all those lovely things. I went in this morning to check on the results and they're not half bad. My cholestrol is great, which was a big surprise to me, so I'm happy. I'm still waiting to hear back on some more tests. Fun! lol. Don't you wish you could be me.

So, as a result I'm running waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind this morning.

I'm blogging off and on all day at the Moonglade Elite Authors Blog and giving away a copy of Egyptian Cotton, so be sure to pop on over when you get the chance. Plus, I love the support, it means a lot to me.


Before I forget, I have to gush about a really cool poem my secret summer sister sent me. I loved it!! I'm having a great time with this and am so glad I joined. It's nice to stop and take a few minutes out to do something nice for someone, and also nice when it's reciprocated, lol.


Today is the eve of two major grand openings!!! The first of which is Moonglade Elite Authors. It isn't just a day or two, it's a full month of great stuff and exceitment. I can't believe we're coming up on the end of July. It's been an action packed month, but next month will be twice that. I'm busy working on too many things at once, and don't have anything new to post, so I decided to do up some reminders of contests and where I'll be.

Melting Iron made an early appearance!!!

Melting Iron made a surprise early appearance! Yep, you read that right...it even surprised me :) I've been waiting for this day for what feels like forever, lol. Months of watching the COMING SOON page. Agonizing as it slowly made its way closer and closer. Torture, pure torture! Then just when I'm all calm and getting prepared for tomorrow...BAM! So yeah, I'm psyched and running around giving anyone high fives *cyberly speaking of course* that I can find. My hubby and son cheered and it made my day. I did have a bittersweet moment, though. I wished I could have shared in this excitement with my mom. She was real proud when she heard I wrote my first novel. It's the last thing of mine...though it was pre-edits...that she read before she passed away. It's dedicated to her. I sure miss her.

Busy week ahead and Monday Musings at MEA!

I had a nice relaxing weekend. Didn't do much and it was bloody hot out, but I still had fun :) I mostly stayed off the computer, but did participate in DeLurker weekend at Romace Junkies. They had the largest turnout ever and I ended up having way too much fun to not stick around. It was great to see a bunch of new readers come out and say hi and they asked some great questions. I can't wait for the next one.

I've been writing up my TO DO THIS WEEK list, and if I still have hair by the end of this week, I'll be surprised. It's going to be crazy busy. The fact that I woke up this morning at 4am and got right to work seriously confirms that feeling.

Believe it or not, I have almost scratched off every single item of my TO DO THIS WEEK list. Too bad a new one starts tomorrow, lol. Tonight alone I finished up my final line edits of Egyptian Cotton and looked over my final copies of Melting Iron. My poor, poor eyes. I've also been working on a couple stories at the same time. One is a novella and the other, a novel. My muse never allows me to do one thing at a time.

Busy days ahead! New releases and grand openings!

Well, it looks like my TO DO list has gotten longer, lol. There is much to prepare for over the next few weeks and I'm not really sure where to start, lol.

We headed for the coast on Sunday and grabbed some lunch, unpacked at the beach house we stayed at, and then walked on the beach. I love the feel of sand on the bottom of my feet. The sun sparkled along the top of the ocean and made it glitter like diamonds. People were flying kites, having picnics, and basking in the sunlight. Later that night we BBQ'd some chicken burgers, popped some popcorn, and watched a movie.

Monday we spent most of our time at the Oregon Coast Aquarium and watched the seals, otters, sea lions, puffins, and other marine life they have. Otters are just too cute, floating on their backs and enjoying the water :) We went out to dinner and yes, I ate too much lol.

Tuesday was fabulous. We went to the community hall and had a delicious pancake breakfast put on by the people who live there. They do it every year and has been our tradition for 12 years. Afterwards we walked along the loop and looked at all the arts and crafts booths that were out. I had a hard time not wanting to buy up everything I liked, but I had to have peanut brittle, lol.
The parade started at 1:00 and I think it was the biggest one yet! Great floats, old fancy cars, horses and llamas, marching bands, and all sorts of fun surprises. We went back to the house and BBQ'd up burgers, rested up, and then headed to the beach.

Later that evening we had dinner and found a spot on the beach to watch the fireworks. They put on an incredible show. There's nothing like watching fireworks over the water as you sit on the beach. Of course we smelled horrible and had to shower when we got home and then we all conked out for the night.

Wednesday we went all over the place before deciding we should head home. I'm always sad when I leave the beach and it was more noticeable this time around. The 4th of July has always been a time I spend with my mom, and not having her this year left an emptiness inside. I thought of her often and especially as I walked along the beach.

Now that I'm back home, I've been going through the 6000 emails and trying to get caught up on chats, edits, newsletters, and updating my website! I think it will be a late night tonight,lol.

Weekend relaxation and fun!

This weekend was very warm, but we had a good time anyways, especially in the shade and wherever there was an air conditioner!

Saturday morning we bopped around the Saturday Market and bought fresh berries and produce. Mmm, raspberries, blackberries, Marionberries, Blueberries, Strawberries...oh my gosh you name it we bought it. Made for some yummy strawberry shortcake with ice cream and whipped cream :)

Afterwards we went to our favorite restaurant The Pantry where I got my usual: Chicken Melt sandwich with Gouda cheese, cranberries, lettuce, and tomato with salad and some tasty Kettle Chips. All that was missing was a glass of wine :) We mention that to them all the time and they are now considering selling wine, or at least will let us bring our own wine for a small corking fee.

The rest of the day we drove around from one air conditioned store to another. Bought an air conditioner for our bedroom at Home Depot, a new printer, and some new shorts for my son. We got ice cream at Baskin Robbins...I LOVE Tea of Tranquility which is chai ice cream with gingersnap cookies...if you haven't tried it...it's to die for!!!!! Then hubby did up nice steaks on the BBQ.

Sunday was even hotter, but we stayed cool in the theater and watched CARS. What a fun movie! Loved the credits at the end :) Hubby BBQ'd Wild Chinook Salmon on a cedar plank...delicious. Yes, we eat good, what can I say. Good food, nice wine, great company...it just doesn't get any better than that :)

Today is back to work. Promos, writing, editing, and working on my July newsletter.
